Our exhaust systems for the Mazda Miata MX-5 replaces the typically quiet and restrictive factory muffler and exhaust components with a larger, free flowing straight-thru type muffler. Whereas OEM muffler constructions typically rely on multiple chambers to bounce and absorb sound frequencies. This results in the increase of backpressure as exhaust gasses are deflected back and forth robbing engine response and power. Megan Racing exhausts system utilize straight-thru perforated glass-pack mufflers dramatically decreasing exhaust backpressure as the gasses are allowed a straight, unrestricted passage while sound frequencies are absorbed by the glass-pack fiber material providing a nice, mellow tone. Comprised of 100% T-304 stainless steel, Megan Racing exhaust components are designed to last the test of time and protected with a 1-year warranty against manufacturer defects.

Muffler Fitment on Auto Transmission Models
For the 1999-2003 model years Mazda supplied two muffler versions for the automatic transmission models. To determine the correct muffler for you vehicle it is important that you follow the instructions below:

We request that you measure the muffler flange bolt-hole spacing on your car to confirm that you will be obtaining the correct muffler for your application. The measurement of concern is the spacing of the bolt holes on the flange between the muffler and the connecting pipe section.

Note your measurements as follows:

Automatic Transmission – 3.46″ (88mm) center-to-center
Manual Transmission – 4.33″ (110mm) center-to-center
