Details:

Touring Edition Exhaust– 3” T304L stainless steel downpipe-back configuration providing a deep, full-bodied, powerful soundtrack that gives the GRC a complete attitude change from idle to full-throttle. Featuring AWE’s patented drone-killing 180 Technology®, Touring Edition unlocks every bit of raw nature out of the 1.6L, minus the very particular frequencies that cause discomfort in the cabin (read: these particular frequencies were capable of truly breaking the threshold of the GRCs cabin structure to cause what most would perceive as drone at highways speeds). Track Edition features a non-resonated mid-section (i.e. no 180 Technology®). It’s even louder (in & out), it’s cost-effective, and isn’t for the faint of heart–you’ve been warned. One bespoke 4.5" x 8" oval double-walled, slash-cut tip in the center flanked by two 5” double-walled, slash-cut tips. Nope, they’re not valved: During R&D, AWE conducted a (quite painstaking) full evaluation of the factory valve and its behavior under various driving conditions to determine its reason for existing. The valve is not controllable by the driver whatsoever–meaning regardless of the driving mode, buttons, settings, etc, there’s no opening/closing the valve from within the cabin. It works directly off of throttle input and only opens upon a certain breach of a threshold declared by the ECU very low in the rev range. Its sole purpose is for backpressure, and considering the factory exhaust design, flow is given priority to the center outlet (the larger one). The factory rear muffler is baffled with no packing material, and only directs flow to the left and right exits when cruising at part throttle or light throttle inputs. After confirming this, and given our configurations already remove any backpressure issues organically, it would have been pointless to incorporate a valve. Instead, AWE provides an electronic valve simulator to keep the ECU satisfied while keeping vehicle operation at 100%.

For those who like their volume like their speed (and want to feel the raw nature of the GRC’s potent 3-cylinder at all speeds) the Track Edition features a non-resonated mid-section (i.e. no 180 Technology®). It’s even louder (in & out) than the Touring Edition, while shaving weight and cost. This version is known to get rowdy in mid-range acceleration/deceleration and cruising, and may be too much for some. For this reason, the Track Edition cannot be returned for sound reasons--you've been warned! The Track Edition boasts a 3” T304L stainless steel downpipe-back configuration that brings out an incredibly rowdy and powerful soundtrack that is nothing short of attention-grabbing. AWE designed three, perfectly fitting (and larger) tips for the GRC: one bespoke 4.5" x 8" oval (double-walled, slash-cut tip and stamped with the AWE logo) in the center, and two 5” double-walled, slash-cut tips left and right. No forced block-off plates or quad setups here - just pure GR look, as intended. When it comes to valves, the rumors are true - they don't matter once you remove the backpressure issues of the stock configuration (and you can't open the valve yourself anyway). So we decided to delete them, save weight, drop price, and make the best sounding exhaust available for the GRC. And in case you're wondering, there's a tailored mount right on the exhaust so you have a solid location to bolt up your factory valve after removing the unnecessary organ. All this supported by AWE’s Perfect Fitment Guarantee, No CEL Guarantee, and Lifetime Warranty.
