Q60 Expreme-Ti Dual — Crafted for a Coupe That Time Forgot.
Building upon the exceptional TYPE-R Single, which has already proven the true potential of the INFINITI Q60 through lightweight design, sharp response, and pure titanium sound, the Expreme-Ti lineup now expands with the addition of the TYPE-D DUAL—not as a replacement, but as a new expression—developed to preserve the same philosophy and uncompromising full-titanium quality while offering a broader visual presence, deeper sound character, and a wider choice in how this rare coupe is finished.
A True Masterpiece That Too Few Have Noticed
The INFINITI Q60 is one of those rare cars whose true value is still largely overlooked.
To be honest, that is deeply unfortunate—because this is an exceptionally refined and capable machine. It may not be a loud or attention-seeking car at first glance.
But when you take a calm, honest look at what the Q60 truly offers, it becomes clear that this is the kind of vehicle that simply will not be made again in today’s automotive world.
Coupe Beauty, FR Balance, and a Twin-Turbo V6 Heart
The Q60 is a true 2-door coupe, defined by flowing, elegant lines and a timeless silhouette.
Its proportions are clean, confident, and unmistakably beautiful.
Underneath, it follows a classic and increasingly rare layout: front-engine, rear-wheel drive.
Power comes from the VR30DDTT 3.0L V6 twin-turbo engine, the same engine family found in the modern Nissan Z. This engine delivers serious performance potential, with factory outputs in the 400-horsepower range and far more available with tuning. Even more remarkable is that the Q60 remains a true four-seat coupe.
Few cars today manage to blend performance, balance, and real-world usability at this level.
Never Sold in Japan — and That Is Exactly Why It Matters
The Q60 was never officially sold in Japan.
It was offered only in select overseas markets—and production has already ended.
That means one thing:
cars with this philosophy, layout, and character are unlikely to ever return from Nissan.
On the used market, the Q60 remains surprisingly accessible.
From base models to the Red Sport 400, most variants share the same fundamental VR30DDTT engine.
Differences lie mainly in tuning and control, not in core hardware.
With the right setup, 500+ horsepower is easily achievable,
while OEM parts availability remains strong and reliable.
As a performance platform, the Q60 is simply outstanding.
A Skyline Coupe — and Perhaps a Modern Silvia
Calling the Q60 a “Skyline Coupe” would not be wrong.
At the same time, its flowing body lines and understated elegance evoke memories of the Silvia—
a coupe known not just for speed, but for style and emotional appeal.
There is a certain softness and grace in the design,
balanced perfectly with strength and purpose.
It is a car that speaks not only to performance metrics, but to the driver’s senses.
The BMW M4 Is a Benchmark — But Nissan Stands Strong
In this segment, comparisons with the BMW M4 are inevitable.
The M4 is, without question, an excellent car.
But the Q60 stands its ground—with a more attainable price point,
and growing recognition as a future classic.
Recently, interest has surged around manual transmission swaps,
using the 6-speed hardware from the latest Z.
This has opened yet another chapter in the Q60’s evolving story.
Why TOMEI Chose the Q60
This is exactly why TOMEI chose to focus on the Q60.
We saw a rare opportunity—to further refine and elevate an already exceptional foundation.
In 2022, we introduced the
TOMEI Expreme‑Ti for Q60 TYPE-R Single.
Now, we proudly add a second option:
the TYPE-D Dual.
Single or Dual.
Pure focus or commanding presence.
Two distinct philosophies—both engineered without compromise.
For Those Who Haven’t Owned One Yet — Now May Be the Time
The Q60 is a car that becomes more rewarding the longer you live with it.
Its design, balance, and tuning potential invite owners to shape it into something truly personal.
Even for those who do not yet own one,
the Q60 deserves serious consideration as a future project and long-term investment.
We at TOMEI USA are committed to supporting and celebrating this remarkable platform.
Because the truth is simple:
The INFINITI Q60 is, without question, one of the finest coupes Nissan has ever created.
The Art of Single — TYPE-R Full Titanium Muffler
In 2022, TOMEI introduced the TYPE-R Full Titanium Muffler for the INFINITI Q60 V37 platform under the concept
“The Art of Single.”
Rather than chasing visual impact or excessive volume, the TYPE-R was developed with a clear priority on performance.
A straight-through design with an 89.1mm main pipe and a carefully optimized exhaust path allows the engine’s natural pulse and revving character to be fully expressed.
The result was unmistakable.
The TYPE-R became one of the most successful exhaust systems in TOMEI’s history, with thousands of units sold worldwide.
Historically, the Skyline lineage favored single-exit exhaust layouts, emphasizing lightweight performance and mechanical efficiency.
TYPE-R stays true to that heritage—delivering exceptional responsiveness and reduced mass through a pure single-exit design that continues to earn the trust of enthusiasts around the world.
TYPE-D — Redefining Dual Exhaust Performance
After extensive prototyping and rigorous testing, the TYPE-D Dual Full Titanium Exhaust System was completed.
At its core lies the same philosophy that defines TOMEI: Function over Form.
Key Specifications
Main Pipe Diameter: Φ80.5mm × 2
Material: Full Titanium
Structure: Straight-through
Weight: 12.5kg / 27.6lbs
OEM system: 20.3kg / 44.8lbs
Sound Character: Deep, dry titanium tone with a refined low-frequency presence
Application: INFINITI Q60 V37 (VR30DDTT)
TYPE-D achieves significant weight reduction while delivering ideal exhaust balance, allowing the V6 engine’s character to emerge with greater clarity, sharpness, and unmistakable titanium presence.
TYPE-R vs TYPE-D
TYPE-R embodies pure performance through minimal mass and response.
TYPE-D builds upon that foundation, adding refinement in sound, visual presence, and daily drivability—without compromising function.
Sound, Philosophy, and Material — The Answer Chosen by TYPE-D
The sound produced by TYPE-D is what we call the Force of Titanium Note.
At idle, it delivers a calm, controlled low-frequency tone.
Under throttle, a dry and crisp mid-range emerges, transitioning seamlessly into a sharp, clean high-end note at higher RPMs—true to the V6 character.
This is not a system designed around volume or aggression alone. It is tuned as an instrument, engineered to respond naturally to engine speed, throttle input, and driver intent.
While stainless steel remains a practical and effective material, TOMEI chose titanium for this project for a clear reason. Reduced mass improves overall vehicle balance, sharpens response, and enhances the sense of lightness that drivers can feel behind the wheel.
After fully engaging with the Q60 V37 platform, titanium proved to be the most honest and natural solution—one that allows the inherent quality of the INFINITI Q60 V37 to shine through without excess.
If this exhaust enhances your time behind the wheel—even slightly—then it has fulfilled its purpose.
